Meet Franklin – a passionate martial artist from São Paulo, Brazil, whose journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu began in 2003 at the age of 15. What started as a teenage curiosity quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit.

By 2015, after years of dedication, Franklin earned the coveted black belt—a symbol of his commitment, perseverance, and love for the art. Since 2011, he has proudly represented the renowned Ryan Gracie Team, a partnership that has deeply shaped his path in Jiu-Jitsu.

As a competitor, Franklin has tested himself in tournaments across Brazil, earning titles and recognition at the state level. But for him, Jiu-Jitsu is more than just competition—it’s a way of life.

Professor Franklin

After receiving his black belt, Franklin felt a strong calling to give back to the community by teaching. He dove into seminars and instructor courses, building a solid foundation to share his knowledge with others. His teaching career began in Brazil, where he inspired students in schools and academies alike.

In 2023, Franklin made Florida his new home, motivated by a simple belief: Jiu-Jitsu should be accessible to everyone. His friendly, inclusive, and down-to-earth teaching style reflects this philosophy, making his classes not only educational but also incredibly engaging.

Currently, Franklin continues to sharpen his skills under Rafael “Gordinho” at Start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Toward the end of 2023, he met Professor Carlos and began teaching at Flowhouse, a place that quickly felt like home. Today, Franklin is not just sharing techniques—he’s living and spreading the Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle.
